You know numbers. Sometimes they start dancing on the page, but you are still able to wrestle them into a coherent whole. As a Work Planner / Cost Engineer, you are responsible for drafting cost overviews and quotes. You can draw up work documents such as technical sheets, specifications, and price lists. You also request quotes from subcontractors and suppliers. Will the project remain within budget? You are responsible for work scheduling and management during design and execution, both the technical and the administrative side. You are a thinker and a doer, rolled into one.
Your Skills as a Work Planner / Cost Engineer:
You know your way around a blueprint. You have a thorough understanding of building sites and know what you need to do to make sure all the different processes mesh. You can plan with the best of them and have no trouble running different projects at the same time. Your calculations and schedules are always impeccable. You sniff out any error. You are a people person and can work with anyone, from colleagues to clients.
Apart from these skills, you have a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Building Engineering.
